Of the many men I've met
I find a similar question
And a similar threat
Of course, they're filled with aggression
And lust at a certain age
Their thoughts are confused
In the activities in which they engage
Us women often get bruised
I understand the testosterone
That's running through their bodies
But now we're desperate to be alone
With our bodies beaten and bloodied
But now the comfort I understand
Of a bat, a knife, or a gun in your hand.
(April 13th, 2012)
The ridicule you've started to go through
A drama, a pain, a love
I have nobody else to talk to
And nobody else to hug
You mustn't say those things to her
Even if they're all a lie
Because, my darling, these little things hurt
And they make a little part of me die
If any of this is real
If any of this is true
My heart wasn't hard to steal
Quite on the contrary to you
So I really hope that you do stay
And don't let this feeling go away
(February 29th, 2012)
If we do end up sitting there
At 2 o'clock in the morning
My head upon your shoulder, but where
Exactly would we be going?
You'd be off to dreamland
In an exhausted sleep
I may be feeling safe, but sad
Melancholy, for you see,
It's not your first choice
To be sitting next to me.
You rather be with the girl whose voice
Could make you smile for a week
I'm always second best to them
Never the first choice, I am.
(December 6th, 2011)
Why should we keep sitting
While the grass grows slowly
like the seconds are ticking
and we all grow lonely?
A million pieces of paper are the empty voids
that we all try to fill with song
The only thing we are trying to avoid
is them becoming two billion pages long
But the silently seeking grass slowly scrapes the sanity off of me
Therefore I am strong
Because the Great Wall I will be
And what strength I will bring along!
Alas, the Great Wall has to watch the grass grow too
And also the sky turn the shades of blue
(November 30th, 2011)
I will stand in this room as long as I want.
I have a camera.
I have courage.
I can stand the spiders.
They only move like the dancer's toes on the floor.
Maybe they learned from watching.
I'll hear the music behind me
of a certain rhythm
A chandelier
hangs too low for comfort
like a stalactite
it drips the dark and dusty thoughts
of past dancers
left in this room to rot
The creaky floor boards
are scuffed-up armor from many a shoe crossing.
But the floors scare me;
they are telling me to walk away.
But the chair is calling me,
"sit for a while,"
"She was beautiful,
just like you."
The chair
"But
Off in a box of 12 and 7
days left in a red
box
This box has no windows
and nothing but white
clocks
These clocks, they tick and tick
and tick and they hurt me with the memories
of black and blue
Shifted back and forth in
this box and now all I have is
time, until I find you
